AcroVoice now supports Caller Name delivery!

Press Release

July 14, 2008

Victoria, BC — AcroVoice keeps getting better. In many areas AcroVoice has upgraded it's infrastructure to support the delivery of Caller ID Name. Subscribers have long enjoyed receiving the name of callers when their phone rings, but now a subcriber's name can be delivered on outbound calls too.

Typically when VoIP subscribers with most providers place an outgoing call their name is not displayed to the party they are calling. AcroVoice is leading the way by now providing this service in several cities across Canada. AcroVoice is also proud to offer the ability to be listed in the phone book and 4-1-1 directory assistance service at no extra monthly charge.

December 30, 2006

Victoria, BC — AcroVoice is excited to announce improvements made earlier this week to the way our subscribers' 911 calls are handled. Previously, 911 dialing only allowed subscribers to connect to a registered non-emergency police line. With the help of a National 911 Dispatching centre, this has been improved to support real 9-1-1 service!

When a 911 is dialed from a subscriber's line, it is routed to our National 911 Dispatching centre where the subscriber's last known address is verified. If this is correct the operator will immediately connect the call to the subscriber's local dispatching centre, and announce his or her address to the answering operator. If the address is not correct, the operator will search the database to locate the most appropriate local dispatching centre to help the caller, and will remain on the line to ensure the transfer went to the right agency.

This new feature meets or exceeds the CRTC requirements for VoIP 911 access. AcroVoice is a trade name of Digital Conceptions Canada which has been in business since 1999.
